The organizers of the 12th Austrian Film Week have announced the successful completion of the festival, which aimed not only to introduce Ukrainians to Austrian culture, but also to raise funds to support Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor country.
The festival was held in 5 cities of Ukraine: Kyiv, Dnipro, Chernivtsi, Lviv, Vinnytsia and gathered around 1000 viewers. This year's festival was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in cooperation with the Arthouse Traffic film company and with the support of the general partner AMIC ENERGY.
"The Austrian Film Week has become a real cultural celebration, bringing together film lovers and fans of Austrian cinema," said Günter Maier, Managing Director and shareholder of AMIC ENERGY. "We are pleased that our participation in this event helped not only to draw attention to European cinema but also to support an important charitable cause."
As the general partner of the festival AMIC ENERGY, doubled the amount of money equivalent to the box office receipts and donated it to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This time, the entire donation amount was transferred to the Serhiy Prytula Foundation to purchase Starlinks terminals for the military. The equipment has already been received by the 55th Separate Artillery Brigade ‘Zaporizhzhia Sich’
“Now all our efforts should be aimed at helping the Defence Forces. And even culture and cinema can lend a shoulder to the Ukrainian army. I would like to thank our partners AMIC ENERGY and the organisers of the film festival for their regular example of such assistance, and all the festival visitors for their contributions and support of the initiative,” said Serhiy Prytula, founder of the eponymous foundation.
In August 2024, the audience will be able to watch several films in selected Ukrainian cinemas. These include The Devil's Bath and The Whole Life, which opened this year's film festival.
